Corona Care



Hello Readers. I have been away from this space for a long time. Getting back today as something is important to convey in the midst of this environment of fear, uncertainty, and anxiety.
I am not a scientist. Nor a doctor. I am a nutritionist and energy healer. As a practitioner of alternative medicine, I believe in more than what meets the eye. There is a big list of does and don’ts hitting the inbox everyday. Out of which I have tried consolidate few does and something that does not fall into the bucket of does and don’ts but is very very important if we intend to evolve as wiser and better species.

What I have gathered so far from my doctor friends working in the field and the latest research is what I am putting forward for everyone.
  1. Covid-19 has no cure. No medicine or a vaccine is invented yet that can claim so, though the research is on at a war-level.
  2. It is being said from the beginning that one’s immunity has an important role to play in recovery. That’s true. But apart from that the new research has found out that one’s Iron stores are also equally important. This virus attacks red blood cells and separates Heme i.e. Iron from the protein. Heme is responsible for carrying oxygen to various parts of the body.  Patients are needing oxygen supply and ventilators because of compromised oxygen carrying and not just the infected lungs. When this happens, body tries to make more red blood cells. Which means that not just Iron but all the essential ingredients that go into RBC making have to be available. i.e. Iron, Folic acid, and Vit B12. Along with minerals such as zinc, copper, riboflavin, sufficient protein and a hormone erythropoietin. Therefore all those individuals who have low haemoglobin levels due to deficiency of either iron or folic acid or Vit B12 can be at a risk. They could have a good immunity level.
  3. Since this is our first encounter with this strain of virus, our immune system is going to take more time developing its army. During this period, this oxygen carrying capacity is going to play an important role in keeping things under control.
  4. Since there is no cure as yet, know that those who are successfully recovering are able to overcome the infection because of their body’s intelligent response. Where immunity and blood’s oxygen carrying capacity can be increased through right nutrition, this intelligence is inbuilt in all of us. But right now the fear is masking this awareness in us that our bodies know this way better than laboratory scientists and it has been doing this throughout the years of evolution. The question is whether we are ready to trust? And If we awaken this trust, it will boost our immunity and all other responses in the body to align this instruction by the subconscious mind.
  5. One of the reasons for this fear is constant bombarding of the numbers. But know that number of people positive and number of patients recovered is always going to show a big gap unless the chain is broken. It takes few hours to test and declare it corona positive but it takes minimum 14 days to declare the same person negative. So hypothetically, if everyday 10 people are testing positive, on 14th day, 140 will be on the positive side and maximum 10 can be declared negative.Also, more the testing, more positive cases. Because about 80% people do not even develop symptoms. Which means some of them have already encountered the virus and even developed immunity against it without them knowing it. This is the intelligence which we need to feed trust more than the panic spreading due to numbers.  
  6. So now what? Do I need not maintain social distancing? Am I free to roam around? Certainly not. It’s a race. How fast can a virus spread, we know enough by now. Can recovery be faster than that? Can we pause the spread and buy time to develop a vaccine or a drug or at least enough beds and ventilators? That is what we are contributing to by obeying the rules and guidelines. All the wise ones know that lockdown is not the cure. But we are buying time. My logic says, there will be a point in the cycle where maximum population has encountered and developed immunity against the virus. And few who have not, we will have enough facilities for them to help and get over it.
  7. We are obeying rules to buy time to build army, external and internal both. For building internal army,

  • Have enough good easy digesting protein. You don’t need to be a non-vegetarian for this. Sprouts, greens, and nuts are equally good sources.
  • Increase your immunity and iron absorption by including vit C through citrus fruits and greens.   
  • Include beetroot, turmeric, Red spinach, black resins, dates, watermelon, spinach, pomegranate, amla, pumpkin, carrots, Moringa often to increase oxygen carrying capacity of blood.
  • Include a probiotic for a healthy gut. Without healthy gut, many of the nutrients are not absorbed fully. Curd or fermented foods are hence important to include.
  • Sipping on herbal concoctions with ginger, tulsi, lemon, turmeric, cinnamon, pepper are our ancient remedies of infection control which still are proving beneficial.
  • Deep Breathing exercises increase the capacity of lungs and also increase immunity.
  • And TRUST the divine wisdom of your body.

So Relax, Breath, Learn, Evolve and  Repeat…
